I love the use of texture and the colour. Its void of standing out, bold colours, which adds more to the sad, lonely feel of the image. I think it may give the message of lonliness better if it was zoomed out just a little, to show how isolated the tree may be. But you can still clearly see how the tree is on its own as it is. Another aspect of the lonliness could be the fact that it looks a little old, with the texture. It could imply that the image is neglected, making it alone. A great image.
I think composition wise its very close, but not quite spot on. The tree you can see is slightly off center, but close enough in my opinion. Although a lot of people are not a fan of dust and scratches, I think it really adds character to this shot.
